William Floyd had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 20-point drubbing they dealt Brentwood on Saturday. The Colonials put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 20-0 win. Given the Colonials' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Indians are ranked 446th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jaquan Thomas went supernova, rushing for 304 yards and three scores while picking up 13.2 yards per carry.

Another reason for the win was William Floyd's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jayden Johnson and Jake Rivera, who racked up all nine sacks between them.

William Floyd's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Brentwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
