Baseball Recap: Aitkin Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Aitkin had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Rush City Tigers with a sharp 15-7 victory. The Gobblers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jake McGuire made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McGuire was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, John Pelarski was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-6. Cole Trotter was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

Looking ahead, Aitkin will challenge Mora at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rush City, they will face off against Crosby-Ironton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
