Baseball Recap: Parrish Community Wins Going Away Against Palmetto

Parrish Community lost to Palmetto back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Parrish Community Bulls blew past the Palmetto Tigers 12-1. Considering the Bulls have won four matches by more than ten runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Wesley Anderson looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Alex Tallo and Jayden Peters did most of the damage at the plate: Tallo got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Peters scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Peters has posted since back in February. Ja'Brien Quiles was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Parrish Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmetto only posted an OBP of .125.

Parrish Community is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. Palmetto is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parrish Community will square off against IMG Academy White at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Parrish Community's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so IMG Academy White's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Palmetto, they will face off against Bishop Verot at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
