The Collins Tigers can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over Mize. Given Collins' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Collins' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaylen Willingham, who scored 18 points along with seven steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Latreyveon Lowe, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
Collins has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Mize, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collins will take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mize, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Oilers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
