It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Bald Eagle Area Bald Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 36-14 margin over Bishop Guilfoyle. The result was nothing new for Bald Eagle Area, who have now won seven matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Cameron Dubbs, who rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Camron Watkins did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards.
When it comes to explaining why Bishop Guilfoyle lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaden Wyandt. Despite the final result, he rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Even if they lost, Bishop Guilfoyle's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Bald Eagle Area's QB was sacked four times before it was all said and done. Connor McElheny was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
The win was the fourth in a row for Bald Eagle Area, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.8 points per game. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Bald Eagle Area has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Forest Hills at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Forest Hills is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Bishop Guilfoyle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
