The Mineral Springs Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Murfreesboro Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mineral Springs comes in on nine and Murfreesboro on ten.
Mineral Springs put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Poyen 58-22 on the road.
Mineral Springs relied on the efforts of Malik Matthews, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and Katrevion Thomas, who rushed for 163 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. Kevin davis made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Murfreesboro strolled past Lafayette County with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14.
Mineral Springs' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. As for Murfreesboro, their win bumped their record up to 10-0.
Everything came up roses for Mineral Springs against Murfreesboro in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 46-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mineral Springs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
