Fowler's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Walsenburg, posting a 60-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Grizzlies, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fowler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brock True, who rushed for 71 yards and two TDs on only five carries, and also threw for seven yards and one touchdown. True has become a key player for the Grizzlies: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. Daniel Adams was another key rusher, rushing for 106 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fowler was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 350 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 295 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
Fowler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hilario Alvarez, Titus Ballard, and Taten Phillips picked up one apiece. Phillips got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Crowley County took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-6 win over Sangre de Cristo.
Fowler better keep an eye on Levi Gibson. He was instrumental in Crowley County's win, rushing for 153 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries, while also picking up 46 receiving yards and one TD. Gibson's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Fowler's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Crowley County, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Fowler has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 247.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Crowley County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 221 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Fowler strolled past Crowley County when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 39-22. Do the Grizzlies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
