Tucumcari hasn't had much luck against Raton recently, but that could start to change  on Monday. The Rattlers will challenge the Tigers at 3:00  p.m. Tucumcari has given up an average of 10.5  runs per game this season, but Monday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Tucumcari was able to grind out a solid  victory over Estancia, taking the game  17-14. The  win continues a trend for the Rattlers in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won four in a row.

 Matt Gomez was a standout: he got on base  in five of his six plate appearances with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. Tucumcari is 4-1 when  Gomez posts two or  more  runs, but 2-6 otherwise.  Jadon Navarro was another key player,  going 3-for-5 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs.
 Tucumcari was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .488. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive  matchups.
Meanwhile,  it was a proper cat-fight when Raton took on Santa Rosa on Friday. The Tigers took  an  8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Chase Middlebrook was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Raton's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Tucumcari, their record is now 6-7.
Raton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Tucumcari has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 10.5  hits per game. It's a different story for Raton, though, as  they've been averaging 8.8  hits. Given Tucumcari's sizable advantage in that area, the Tigers will need to find a way to close that gap.
 Tucumcari couldn't quite get it done against Raton in their previous matchup  two weeks ago as they fell  7-3. Can the Rattlers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
