Last Thursday, Johnsburg Central was the victim of a rough 65-39 defeat at the hands of the Panthers. Johnsburg Central has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their match on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Seton Catholic Central lost to the Patriots at home by a decisive 40-21 margin on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Seton Catholic Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 501st, while the Patriots are ranked 153rd).
Despite the defeat, Seton Catholic Central had strong showings from Grace Trombley, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals, and Monique Allen, who scored four points along with two steals. That was a full 38.1% of Seton Catholic Central's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Johnsburg Central dropped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Seton Catholic Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
