Basketball Recap: Thompson Snags Ninth Victory in Last 12 Games

If East Grand Forks wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Thompson, they should've done a better job of containing Gavin Krogstad. The Thompson Tommies enjoyed a cozy 72-54 win over the East Grand Forks Green Wave on Thursday thanks in part to Krogstad, who went 10-for-17 on his way to 30 points and five rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Another player making a difference was Braden Tyce, who posted six points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Thompson has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. East Grand Forks' defeat dropped their record down to 19-7.

Thompson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-47 victory against Hillsboro/Central Valley on the 22nd. As for East Grand Forks, they have also already played their next match, a 78-74 loss against Ada-Borup/Norman County West on the 21st.
