The Badin Rams will square off against the Seton Saints at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Badin will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Badin took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Harrison, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rams narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wildcats 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since April 26, 2025.
The team relied heavily on Phebe Kiefer, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Emily O'Brien was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
Badin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-9 margin over Catholic Central on Friday. The Saints' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Charli McGuire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Seton got a massive performance out of Allie MacPherson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Allen, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Seton's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Badin, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Seton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Badin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .604. It's a different story for Seton, though, as they've only averaged .364. Will they be able to contain Badin's hitters?
Badin got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Seton by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Saints have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
