After each having a week off, the Providence Christian Eagles and the Ariton Purple Cats will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Providence Christian comes in on three and Ariton on four.
Providence Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on Geneva County with a sharp 42-16 victory last Friday. With the Eagles ahead 28-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Craig Pittman produced another solid effort throwing for 152 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushing for 44 yards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (156.3). Jackson Rillano was another key player, rushing for 88 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Providence Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 227 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
Another reason for the win was Providence Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Brooks Canady, Tom Borland, and Henry Parsons, who each picked up one sack apiece. Tyler Sharp was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Ariton last Friday. Everything went their way against Long as they made off with a 36-13 win. Considering the Purple Cats have won three matchups by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Providence Christian better focus on containing Wells Ganey and Addison Senn as the pair were huge in Ariton's win. Ganey gained 112 total yards and two touchdowns, while Senn rushed for 29 yards and a pair of TDs. Ganey didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made eight total tackles.
Providence Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Ariton, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
Everything went Providence Christian's way against Ariton when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Providence Christian made off with a 37-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Ganey, who rushed for 132 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
