After a string of three wins, the Northview Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a hard 67-50 fall against Terre Haute South Vigo. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Northview of the 71-64 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Northview saw an underclassman step up: Brayden Goff scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Goff has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trayven Buis, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Terre Haute South Vigo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zayvion Baker, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Wells, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Northview's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-9. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
Northview will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Danville at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. Danville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Northview likes a good challenge. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, they will head out on the road to face off against Plainfield at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Terre Haute South Vigo is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.2 points per game this season.
