The Bozeman Bucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They fell to Port St. Joe 41-37. Bozeman lost against Port St. Joe in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 47-26 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Bozeman lost, one person who can't be blamed is Skyler Scott . Despite the final result, she scored 25 points. Scott scored a full 67.6% of Bozeman's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Krista Pierce , who scored six points.
Port St. Joe can attribute much of their success to Alonah Segree, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Segree has scored at least 25% of Port St. Joe's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty'Shawn Shackelford, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Bozeman's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Port St. Joe, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bozeman will take on Holmes County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Holmes County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Port St. Joe, they will be playing at home against Mosley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
