McCreary Central and Oneida are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Raiders will head out to challenge the Indians at 7:35 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, McCreary Central turned things around against Lynn Camp on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 18-5 margin over the Wildcats. The high-scoring effort was just what the Raiders needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Kassie Garland was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, McCreary Central got a massive performance out of Hayden Bryant, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Bryant a new career-high. Ray Upchurch was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, while Oneida put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Scott. The Indians were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Highlanders. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won eight in a row.
Not much got past Jolie Duncan, who gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Scott off the board. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Duncan.
On the hitting side, Lillian Hailey was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaidance Lewallen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
McCreary Central's record is now 5-8-1. As for Oneida, their record now sits at 11-13.
Everything went McCreary Central's way against Oneida in their previous matchup back in March, as McCreary Central made off with an 8-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
