It was a good run, but the Poteet Pirates unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 38-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Keller Central.
Malaiyah Foster continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Keller Central, scoring 13 points. The match was Foster's third in a row with at least ten points. Zhoe Ouimette was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Poteet now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Keller Central, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poteet will take on Spruce at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spruce will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1383rd, while Poteet is ranked 467th). Keller Central and Byron Nelson will face off at 5:45 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Byron Nelson has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17.
