Triangle Math & Science has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Woods Charter Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triangle Math & Science has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Triangle Math & Science gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Research Triangle 62-17 on the road. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-9.
Triangle Math & Science had a senior duo take command as Leanna Nohs scored 28 points along with eight steals and Yashitha Vanamala scored 16 points along with six steals. That's the first time this season that Vanamala scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Zainab Mcelhinney, who scored no points along with 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Woods Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Chatham Charter on the road by a decisive 54-40 margin. While losing is never fun, Woods Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 608th, while Chatham Charter is ranked 133rd).
Triangle Math & Science is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Woods Charter, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Triangle Math & Science against Woods Charter in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 68-30 win.
