Fairfield proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the LaVille Lancers 3-2. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Lancers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Andrew Bailey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Fairfield's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Drew Beachy, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Fairfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for LaVille, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will challenge Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for LaVille, they will square off against Glenn at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
