1 of 1 Academy Red suffered their biggest defeat yet this season back in December of 2023. They were beaten by Northside Christian Academy 63-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points 1 of 1 Academy Red has scored all season.
Meanwhile, St. Margaret's was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 46-40 to Collegiate. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. Margaret's in their matchups with Collegiate: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite their loss, St. Margaret's saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Paula Carrillo, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. Carrillo hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Ilona Syzdek, who scored 11 points.
1 of 1 Academy Red has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for St. Margaret's, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
