Front Range Christian is a perfect 7-0 against Liberty Common since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Morton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Max Morton and Landon Deza did most of the damage at the plate: Max went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Deza scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Nate McInturff, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Front Range Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kiowa only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty Common). Everything went their way against Jefferson Academy on Monday as Liberty Common made off with a 15-4 win. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 8.2 runs per game.
Like Front Range Christian, Liberty Common also got a great game from a two-way player: Roman Galindo. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Galindo was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryson Weibler, who went 3-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and one double. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Frevert also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
The win got Liberty Common back to even at 2-2. As for Front Range Christian, their record is now 2-0.
