The Crockett Bulldogs's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down Coldspring-Oakhurst 57-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Crockett also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Crockett's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tania Davis, who scored 29 points along with five assists and three steals. Davis continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Taylor, who almost dropped a triple-double on ten points, 21 rebounds, and nine blocks.
Crockett is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Coldspring-Oakhurst, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crockett will take on the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shepherd is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Coldspring-Oakhurst, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fighting Owls at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Anderson-Shiro presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Trojans in Texas (the Fighting Owls are ranked 297th, while the Trojans are ranked 823rd).
