Softball Recap: Annapolis Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Annapolis let Thurston stack 12 runs on them in the first inning on Wednesday but luckily Annapolis prevailed anyway. The Cougars blew past the Eagles 21-14. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 11 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kaelyn Clement 2025 was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played. Lexi Harleton 2026 was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Annapolis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Annapolis is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Thurston, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Annapolis is set to square off against their familiar foe Garden City at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Annapolis has won three straight at home, while Garden City won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Meanwhile, Thurston will face off against rival Crestwood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
