Cook Inlet recap Oct. 23, 2012
South extended the longest winning streak in Cook Inlet this week by beating Service, 28-19. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Wolverines.
South led the league in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on the Cougars.
Service's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Viliamu Aukusitino threw for 181 and one touchdown and Nikolas Butler had 149 yards receiving. On the ground Aukusitino chipped in 51 yards. Kylelle Brown helped Service's passing attack out by catching two balls for 13 yards.
West's Conor Feckley and Eric Vandervort have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Feckley has thrown for 2305 yards this season, while Vandervort, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 55 catches for 966 yards. Numi Ilalio's team's Aukusitino leads the league in rushing yards with 956.
East made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,044 from 3,239.
