Softball Game Preview: Creston Panthers vs. Denison-Schleswig Monarchs

Creston is 7-2 against Denison-Schleswig since June of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Monarchs at 5:30 p.m.

Creston lost 11-1 to Ames on Friday. The Panthers have struggled against the Little Cyclones recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Denison-Schleswig waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tornadoes, sneaking past 7-5. The game was the first time the Monarchs have beaten the Tornadoes on their field since June 3, 2017.

Creston's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Denison-Schleswig, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7.

Creston was able to grind out a solid win over Denison-Schleswig when the teams last played back in July of 2024, winning 10-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
