The Genoa Area Comets will be playing at home against the Eastwood Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Genoa Area will be strutting in after a win while Eastwood will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Genoa Area got themselves on the board against Rossford, but Rossford never followed suit. They breezed by the Bulldogs on the road to the tune of 56-0. The result was nothing new for Genoa Area, who have now won five games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Eastwood's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 35-21 bruising from Oak Harbor.
Despite the loss, Eastwood had strong showings from Kadyn Donnell, who threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns, and Andre Lewis, who picked up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Genoa Area's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.4 points per game. As for Eastwood, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
Genoa Area came up short against Eastwood in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, falling 34-26. Will Genoa Area have more luck at home instead of on the road?
