After a string of five wins, the Jordan-Elbridge Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 49-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Skaneateles. Jordan-Elbridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Skaneateles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Jordan-Elbridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbie Ahern, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and four blocks. Ahern is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Hildebrant, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Jordan-Elbridge's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4. As for Skaneateles, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jordan-Elbridge will take on Hannibal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Skaneateles, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cazenovia at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cazenovia has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
