Winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 24% better than the opposition, a fact Belleview Christian proved on Thursday. They strolled past Dawson School with points to spare, taking the game 62-46. Given Belleview Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Dawson School is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Belleview Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ewing, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Ewing is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Garrett Owen was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with two blocks.
Lone Star suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 68-31 loss at the hands of Idalia. Lone Star was down 55-26 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Belleview Christian's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Lone Star, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
