Benjamin Russell gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged the Tallassee Tigers out 6-5. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.
Emily Mcwaters was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mcwaters was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
In other batting news, Lydia Montgomery and Arionna Ware did most of the damage at the plate: Montgomery got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while Ware went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The dominant performance gave Ware a new career-high in RBI. Kyleigh Leonard was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
