Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Indian Creek walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 52-35 win over the Mustangs on Saturday. Given Indian Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while Edgewood is ranked 188th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Indian Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Foster led the charge by scoring 18 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Day, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact Indianapolis Bishop Chatard proved on Saturday. They managed a 59-53 win over Heritage Christian. 59 seems to be a good number for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Saturday's match is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Indian Creek have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 48.7% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Indianapolis Bishop Chatard struggles in that department as they've made 40.2% of their threes this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Indian Creek against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 76-47 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's Anna Thompson, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Now that she won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Indian Creek to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
