Riverside and Old Forge are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2016, but likely not for long. The Vikings will square off against the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Old Forge likes a good challenge.
On Monday, Riverside made easy work of Blue Ridge and carried off a 16-1 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.
Addie Smith made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Smith was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Holy Cross hit Old Forge with a four-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils fell 8-4 to the Crusaders. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Juliette DeStefano was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Arnold, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Riverside has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Old Forge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Riverside hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Old Forge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Riverside came out on top in a nail-biter against Old Forge in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
