The Valley Christian Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Milpitas Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Valley Christian's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Palma. Fans of the Warriors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Melody Gonzales tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Leanna Holguin and Sia Marsh did most of the damage at the plate: Holguin went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs, while Marsh went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Marsh has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Shyla Paredes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Valley Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .382 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Milpitas came up short against San Mateo on Thursday, falling 8-1. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Milpitas saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Cabrera, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Sophia Delgado also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Valley Christian's record now sits at 6-0. As for Milpitas, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.
Milpitas' hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Valley Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Milpitas, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Valley Christian keep running through batters, or will the Trojans buck the trend?
Everything went Valley Christian's way against Milpitas in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Valley Christian made off with a 14-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
