Astronaut is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Cocoa an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Astronaut War Eagles will be playing at home against the Cocoa Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Astronaut will be strutting in after a win while Cocoa will be coming in after a defeat.
Astronaut was handed a eight-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Titusville, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the War Eagles have posted against the Terriers since May 2, 2022.

Nathan Edwards made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Edwards was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Astronaut: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Cepeda, who scored two runs while going 5-for-5. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Cocoa scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 22-8 to Brevard HEAT.
Travis Taylor and Rayden Smith stepped up to the plate in a big way. Taylor scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Smith went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Taylor also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.
Astronaut's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-7. As for Cocoa, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
Everything went Astronaut's way against Cocoa in their previous matchup on Monday, as Astronaut made off with a 27-0 victory. Will Astronaut repeat their success, or does Cocoa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
