The Galloway Scots suffered their biggest defeat since November 17, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a rough 66-43 loss at the hands of St. Francis. While losing is never fun, Galloway can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while St. Francis is ranked 171st).
When it comes to explaining why Galloway lost, one person who can't be blamed is Fielden Winn. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Winn has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reggie Johnson, who scored four points along with eight rebounds.
St. Francis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javon Holt, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Greg Howard, who scored 15 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Galloway and nudges their season record down to 4-13. As for St. Francis, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Galloway will face off against Walker at 8:30 a.m. on Monday. Walker has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 193 points over their last three matchups. As for St. Francis, they will be playing at home against Mt. Bethel Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Bethel Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully St. Francis likes a good challenge.
