Haddonfield is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Gloucester City is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Haddonfield Bulldawgs will take on the Gloucester City Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Haddonfield can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Raritan as Haddonfield made off with a 31-7 win. Given Haddonfield's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Raritan is ranked 142nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Haddonfield had a senior duo take command as Dom Hahn gained 189 total yards and two touchdowns and Declan McCarthy threw for 260 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes. Hahn was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 60 yards.
Meanwhile, Gloucester City slipped by Middle Township 35-34 on Friday. 35 seems to be a good number for Gloucester City as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Gloucester City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Widman out in front who rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns. Jake Seibert was another key contributor, throwing for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 8-1.
Haddonfield and Gloucester City were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, but Haddonfield suffered an agonizing 14-13 loss. Can Haddonfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
