Mountain Lake/Comfrey came tearing into Thursday's contest with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against St. Mary by a score of 67-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why St. Mary's lost, one person who can't be blamed is Will Walter. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 58.2% of St. Mary's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of George Schwint, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds.
