Basketball Recap: Jose Zacarias Key Part of a Team Effort in Timberwolves Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Prairie, Heritage was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Hockinson Hawks with a sharp 75-51 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Timberwolves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jose Zacarias led the charge by going 9 of 14 on his way to 23 points in addition to six assists and four steals. That's the most points Zacarias has posted since back in December of 2024. Tyrell Cash was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

Heritage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Heritage's record now sits at 8-11. As for Hockinson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage will square off against Kelso at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season. Hockinson has already played their next contest (against Columbia River), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
