The Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 52.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past Madison Highland Prep, posting a 68-12 victory on the road. The result was nothing new for Scottsdale Christian Academy, who have now won seven contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Jack Atkinson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 361 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. Andrew Trapp did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 134 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Madison Highland Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xchyler Tsutsumi. Despite the final result, he picked up 258 receiving yards and a touchdown. Tsutsumi's longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Lungo, who threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.1 yards per attempt.
Scottsdale Christian Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Madison Highland Prep, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.
Scottsdale Christian Academy will take on Shadow Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison Highland Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Tonopah Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Malachi Wilt and Lungo.
