Kaylee Watson made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Raine Dunn was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jaden-Scott Majors, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Geneva County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .606 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Eufaula won against Valley on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against Carroll by a score of 10-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Jade Barnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Natoria Brascom, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Faircloth, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Geneva County pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Eufaula, their record now sits at 7-15-1.
