It was a good run, but the Geneva Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 57-48 to Edgewood. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Geneva in their matchups with Edgewood: they've now lost five in a row.
Mckenna Vencill continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Edgewood, scoring 21 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vencill has scored all season. Katie Mccollister was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five assists and two steals.
Geneva's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3. As for Edgewood, they pushed their record up to 14-0 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneva will take on Harvey at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. Harvey comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Edgewood will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lakeside at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th.
