Video: Michael Serrano highlights Watch the Midland Lee quarterback who accounted for nearly 5,000 yards and 60 TDs.
In the winter of 2019, MaxPreps reached out to high school coaches
nationwide to find 100 of the most under-recruited players in the
country. The
response was well received.
With
Class of 2021 players unable to attend showcases or spring football due
to COVID-19 restrictions, we decided to move up this year's survey. The
response was enormous.
In less than a
week, more than 500 surveys were returned, highlighting why these
players, almost all with little or no college attention, would help any
FBS, FCS, Division II or Division III program.
We
have broken the responses into regions, today featuring the South,
which includes high school players from Delaware, Maryland, D.C, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana.
Check the published On to the Radar
Northeast
and
Midwest list and be on the lookout Friday for the West regions.
Additionally, MaxPreps football editor Zack Poff dropped his
Top 100 Under the Radar watch list last week.
Here
are Class of 2021 South players whose coaches think should be on someone's
radar, including position, recommended college level, film and comments.

Game film: VideoHigh school coach: Ronnie Porter — Following a 2,000 yard year as a sophomore many schools critiqued his top-end speed. Zach worked hard in the spring and has increased his speed. Another critique is his size, but Zach is one that carries his pads very well. With a squat over 400 pounds and a power clean of 250, he overcomes his lack of size with strength. He has not received any D-I offers despite his very impressive stats. He is primed for an outstanding 2020 year that will cap a very impressive high school career.

He only had two interceptions in 2019-20, but averaged 20.5 yards on the returns. He was selected as the team Defensive Player of the Year.
High school coach: Joshua Ray — Owen is often one of the best athletes on the field. He played at QB a lot this last year due to injuries, but mostly plays WR/DB. He is very agile, a solid tackler, and naturally does a lot of things well. He's a dynamic kickoff returner that can break one at any point. As a sophomore, he was selected as a team captain, mainly due to his work ethic. He's got decent speed all around. He can throw and tackle well, so he's a very versatile player.
