Despite the loss, Hanahan still got an impressive performance from Jonah Auckenthaler, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 44.8% of Hanahan's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Robert Watson was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds for Philip Simmons. Watson hasn't dropped below 15 points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Weston Coggeshall, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Hanahan has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Philip Simmons, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hanahan will face off against Beaufort at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanahan is coming into the match with four straight defeats on the road, meaning Beaufort will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Philip Simmons, they will take on Battery Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Battery Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Tuesday.
