South View proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 21) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the East Columbus Gators 10-9. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on five straight.
Logan Read was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.
In other batting news, Juan Mckoy was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Avery Barbour also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
