Reese Besco was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and seven unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kori Hoplite was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauryn Kuhn, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Harvest Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Millersport, falling 29-6. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 5, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Berne Union pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 24.7 runs over those games. As for Harvest Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
Everything went Berne Union's way against Harvest Prep in their previous meeting on April 2nd, as Berne Union made off with a 21-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
