There's no place like home for the Meadville Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Novinger by a score of 62-50 on Friday. For Meadville, this counts as revenge for the 70-51 loss Novinger walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Gauge Shiflett, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Dennis, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
The victory got Meadville back to even at 10-10. As for Novinger, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.
Meadville will take on Bucklin-Macon County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meadville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Bucklin-Macon County likes a good challenge. As for Novinger, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on La Plata at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Novinger is ranked 509th, while La Plata is ranked 486th).
