The Bell County Bobcats won the last time they faced the Clay County Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Bell County put the hurt on Clay County with a sharp 41-20 victory. The result was nothing new for Bell County, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Daniel Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 207 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Burnett, who threw for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
Bell County's win was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. As for Clay County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bell County will take on Harlan County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harlan County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Bell County is ranked 33rd). As for Clay County, they have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Hazard at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Hazard has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th.
