The Hand Tigers had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 36-20 win over Guilford. Hand's victory was all the more impressive since Guilford was averaging only 11.4 points allowed on the season.
Aidan Dolan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 177 yards and three touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown. Jack Shay was another key contributor, throwing for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
Guilford's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyler Hilgert, who threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Hillier, who gained 163 total yards.
Hand's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. As for Guilford, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-2.
Hand will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (St. Joseph is ranked 28th, while Hand is ranked 17th). Guilford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
