Elena Leonard was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 26 points along with seven steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. Another player making a difference was Rozlyn Funari, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Morenci pushed their record up to 9-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Tombstone, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-10.
Morenci will head out on the road to square off against Willcox at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Willcox is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Tombstone, they will be playing at home against Empire at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Empire comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
