The Highlands Ranch Falcons were the 66-53 winner over the Castle View Sabercats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Highlands Ranch fell just short of the Sabercats by a score of 59-56. Highlands Ranch has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Highlands Ranch's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton TerEick, who scored 11 points along with two steals. TerEick is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was George West III, who scored ten points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Vitorio Dante, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds for Castle View. Dante hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Mckean, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Highlands Ranch has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Castle View, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Highlands Ranch will take on the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Castle View, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. ThunderRidge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Sabercats in Colorado (the Grizzlies are ranked first, while the Sabercats are ranked 60th).
