The Center Roughriders had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.1 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 47-46 victory over Gilmer. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Center also won the last time the pair played on January 5th.
Lanaijha Johnson was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Johnson is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Journee Smith was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Center pushed their record up to 21-7 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Gilmer, their loss dropped their record down to 16-12.
Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gilmer will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Texas (Chapel Hill is ranked 459th, while the Buckeyes are ranked 480th).
