Cardinal Newman extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-1. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over the Pleasant Valley Vikings. It was another big night for Pathoumnourack Malakai, who rushed for 125 yards and one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 125 rushing yards.

Looking ahead, after each having a week off, Cardinal Newman and Windsor will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Cardinals 13.2, the Jaguars 11) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Pleasant Valley, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Red Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
